B.S. in Accounting

Walden’s B.S. in Accounting program takes a unique approach that provides you with an introduction to how accounting tools are used in the context of the larger business environment. Then you will learn the knowledge and skills to design, manipulate, and implement accounting products. This intuitive approach to learning allows you to view accounting’s role as more than a series of unrelated activities and details, and gives you insight into organizational and ethical issues.

The curriculum is aligned with the national standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), teaching critical content for those students who may wish to continue on to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).*

*Most states require individuals to complete 150 semester hours in certain subject areas in order to be eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and/or obtain a CPA license. Walden’s B.S. in Accounting can help graduates progress toward meeting those requirements by offering 120 credit hours that include upper level courses in topics such as financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting. For information on the educational requirements for your state, refer to the state’s Board of Accountancy or related agency.
